Contact Congress TODAY about Baha'is imprisoned in Iran

(the May 14 Compassionate Living Tip from Interfaith Paths to Peace)
Please join the
Louisville Baha'i community in a stand for human rights
and a show of Louisville’s
world-embracing compassion by
calling your
US Senators and Representative on
May 14
to ask for
support of S.Res.75 and H.Res.109.
These
resolutions urge the Iranian
government to release the prisoners of conscience being held in
despicable
conditions in Iran’s prisons. Among them are seven Baha’i
leaders who were
arrested five years ago, falsely charged, and sentenced to 20
years in prison.
Their real “crime” is being a member of Iran’s largest religious
minority, the Baha’i
Faith.
May 14,
2013 will
mark the fifth anniversary of this imprisonment. The worldwide
Baha’i community
has launched an international campaign to seek the immediate
release of these
seven imprisoned Baha’is – and all other prisoners of conscience
in Iran. We
ask you to join in a collective effort in support of this call
to action and
urge the Iranian Government to live up to its international
human rights
obligations.
