October 15 Compassionate Living Tip from Interfaith Paths to Peace

Explore Nonviolent Communication with 6 monthly sessions beginning in November

Friends,

Please email back your intention to be part of this powerful study/practice of nonviolent communication:

interfaithterry@gmail.com

An invitation
Please plan to join us at 3 pm on Sunday, November 11 at thePlymouth Community Renewal Center for the first of what we plan to be six monthly sessions designed to take us deeper into nonviolent communication (nvc) as pioneered by Marshall B. Rosenberg.  These programs will be free and open to the public

At this initial 90-minute meeting we will decide as a group on days and times for subsequent meetings. We will also begin the process of talking about "Observation" as an element of nonviolent communication.

Facilitators
The monthly 90-minute sessions will be facilitated by Terry Taylor of Interfaith Paths to Peace and Mary Abrams, Chair of the Peace and Justice Division of the Episcopal Diocese of Kentucky. The facilitators hope to learn along with the participants as the sessions proceed.

Format for monthly sessions
The monthly sessions will be structured around both study and practice and will include discussion, small group interaction, and role playing). The plan is to test the elements of nonviolent communication in our own lives and explore together the challenges and successes we encounter. The six sessions we envision will follow the six key elements of nvc as presented in the materials developed by Jeff Brown and presented at his September 30 workshop.

Focus for monthly sessions
Monthly discussion will focus on individual elements including

Observation
Feeling
Need
Request
Empathy and
Self-empathy
