November 9th Compassionate Living Tip from Interfaith Paths to Peace
On Sunday, Join the celebration of the first anniversary of Compassionate Louisville

I’ve said many times that our goal in Louisville is to spark a brushfire of compassion -- one that will spread not only through our city, but around the world!
Today, I’m writing to thank you for your participation this past year and to invite you to our celebration. This Sunday, November 11th, I hope you’ll join us at 12:30p.m. to celebrate Compassionate Louisville’s first anniversary.
There have been many highlights in the past year. For me, nothing was more wonderful than the Mayor’s “Give A Day” Week of Service. Together, we logged more than 90,000 volunteers or acts of kindness and I declared us the most compassionate city in the world!
But we know the year ahead will also be remarkable - especially when His Holiness the Dalai Lama visits Louisville in May 2013. This will be a community event and the world’s eyes will be on us.
Please consider participating in whatever way seems appropriate for you in this historic event. Whether that means supporting a community event, participating in our next “Give A Day” Week of Service Week on April 13-21, 2013, or planting a tree to symbolize the compassion taking root in our community - we know Louisville is at its best when we’re working together!
Sincerely,
Greg Fischer
Mayor

Friends,
We join Mayor Fischer in extending this invitation to you:
Dear Compassionate Louisville:
I’ve said many times that our goal in Louisville is to spark a brushfire of compassion -- one that will spread not only through our city, but around the world!
Today, I’m writing to thank you for your participation this past year and to invite you to our celebration. This Sunday, November 11th, I hope you’ll join us at 12:30p.m. to celebrate Compassionate Louisville’s first anniversary.
We’ll gather in front of the Thomas Merton/Dalai Lama banner on Muhammad Ali, just west of 4th Street. Compassionate Louisville will mark the anniversary by delivering its first annual report.
There have been many highlights in the past year. For me, nothing was more wonderful than the Mayor’s “Give A Day” Week of Service. Together, we logged more than 90,000 volunteers or acts of kindness and I declared us the most compassionate city in the world!
