Thursday, April 11, at 7 p.m. in the ELC
lectorium at Spalding
(Southeast corner of 4th Street and Breckenridge)
The lectorium is located in the southeast corner at the intersection of 4th Street and Breckenridge.
Our guest, who will speak on the topic of Compassion in Islam, will be Narjis Nichole Abdul-Majid, a part-time lecturer at the University of Louisville.
She is currently conducting research in the areas of religion and hip-hop, religion in the environment, and African American Islamic history in addition to pursuing proficiency in Islamic tajweed (recitation of the Islamic sacred text, the Qur'an) and Qur'an memorization.
She has a M.A. in Religious Studies from the University of Louisville as well as several certificates from Islamic educational seminaries in the United States and England.
